Open Source & Ecosystem

SIPez actively contributes to and maintains open source software across SIP, VoIP, and structured conversational data. These projects form a key part of the foundation for modern communication systems and platforms such as vConductor.

We provide support, maintenance, customization, and product development services built on top of these technologies, helping customers accelerate development while reducing risk and cost.

The following projects represent core components of our platform and the broader communications ecosystem we help build and support.

vCon & Conversational Data Platform

These projects form the foundation of our vConductor platform and modern conversational data systems.

  • py_vcon_server (vCon processing & pipeline engine) – The core processing and orchestration engine behind vConductor. It provides the event-driven workflow system, processor plugin framework, and API layer used to capture, process, enrich, and manage structured conversational data (vCon).

py_vcon_server enables pipeline-based processing of conversation data, including transcription, labeling, summarization, and AI-driven analysis, and serves as the foundation for building extensible, production-grade conversational data platforms.

Making this system open source reflects our commitment to open standards, extensibility, and giving customers full control over how their conversational data is processed and managed.
  • python-vcon (py-vcon) – Reference Python implementation of the vCon standard. Provides tools for creating, validating, and working with structured conversation records that unify media, metadata, transcripts, and AI-derived insights in a portable format.
  • PyPI Packages – python-vcon and py_vcon_server are available as installable packages for building vCon-based applications, APIs, and processing pipelines.

SIP & Communications Infrastructure

  • reSIProcate – High-performance, standards-compliant SIP stack used to build SIP endpoints, proxies, and communication servers. Widely deployed in production VoIP systems.
  • sipXtapi – SIP application framework and APIs that simplify the development of SIP-based applications, endpoints, and call control systems.

Infrastructure & Supporting Libraries

  • cpp_redis – High-performance C++ client library for Redis, supporting asynchronous operations and scalable data access patterns.
  • tacopie – Asynchronous networking library used by cpp_redis, providing efficient event-driven I/O and connection handling.

Commercial Support & Services

SIPez provides commercial support and engineering services for these technologies, including integration, customization, performance optimization, interoperability testing, and long-term maintenance. We help customers build production-ready systems on top of open source foundations.

Why Open Source Matters

Our open source work reflects our commitment to open standards, interoperability, and long-term sustainability. By building on and contributing to open technologies, we enable customers to avoid vendor lock-in while accelerating innovation in communications and conversational data platforms.
